Amart Furniture is excited to partner with stylist Jackie Brown to bring you the latest looks for your home with the Smart Styling series. In the March edition, Jackie brings you a spacious warehouse loft with a soft, feminine touch. The products that Jackie used to create this gorgeous scene are listed below, so you can easily recreate this look in your own home!
Gritty Pretty is all about mixed textures, soft sophistication and industrial minimalism. This welcoming space is practical and chic at the same time, thanks to Jackie's clever styling of contrasting elements, such as the feminine bedding and the rustic wood of the furniture. But where do you start? Jackie recommends investing in a bed that is large and solid to fill the space, and the Trillian Queen bed does the job perfectly. Next, give it a feminine edge with soft textures. Sheer curtains, velvet cushions and furry rugs are just some of the elements Jackie used in tones of blush, rose and rust.
To maintain the minimalist look, be sure to invest in furniture pieces that provide additional storage. The City2 bookcase has a mix of closed cabinets and open shelves, making it ideal for stowing away everything from bedding to clothes.
Finally, don't forget to accessorise! Decorative items with metal finishes, such as copper, iron and brass, will look great, while a splash off greenery adds life and colour.
These are Jackie's top tips for styling an industrial bedroom with a feminine touch:
- Use rugs and other pieces to break up the one big space into smaller zones
- Sheer and textured fabric choices will soften hard edges
- Try to use multi-purpose pieces where possible. Use a stool as a side-table as seen above, or think of inventive ways to get the most out of your furniture – functionality is key!
